Miles Davis Bitches Brew: Génesis de la obra maestra de Miles Davis

While I was employed as a Sony Music archivist and researcher, the department manger threw the plum job of assisting Italian music researchers Enrico Merlin and Veniero Rizzardi with their Miles Davis book:

I am listed in the credits and thank yous, along with two thousand Sony executive men.
I organized for Enrico https://www.enricomerlin.org/ and Veniero
to meet and speak with musicians and people that knew Miles Davis, especially musicians who played on the Bitches Brew recording, including the amazing Bennie Maupin, Dave Holland and Jack DeJohnette. There are various sites featuring information Veniero's practices as a musicologist. Besides the great poet and writer Quincy Troupe, we visited the wonderful and kind Don Hunstein, (rest in peace) Mr. Hunstein was a staff photographer and director of photography for CBS and Columbia Records, before it became "Sony Music." As the label's staff photographer, he gave us loads of information about Miles in the studio. You can see his work here: https://www.donhunstein.com
Mr. Troupe shared information on Miles Davis' life and entertained us with what it was like to interview Miles for Troupe's biography "Miles, the autobiography." This book came out in the 1990s and it is worth a read. One will gather insight into Miles Davis' incredible life and musicianship.

I also organized for Enrico and Veniero to speak with some of the musicians that played on the Bitches Brew.  I also organized for them to interview the great Betty Davis. I love Betty Davis and I wanted to interview her myself but it was probably for the best for her to be interviewed by Enrico and Veniero. Listening of the Bitch Brew analog tapes were arranged through various "top dogs."  The wonderful Bob Belden (rest in peace) was with us. Bob was the producer for some of the Miles Davis reissues. He was a great guy; always smiling!  I was bummed out when I heard of his death. When the going got tough, he encouraged me to stick it out at Sony. Photos of our adventures later, as soon as I can find them!  You can read about Bob here: https://www.bluenote.com/artist/bob-belden/
